Best Men’s Fashion Style for 2018

The world of men’s style is less colorful and complicated than women’s fashion. Men don’t usually care about trends which is why they buy more expensive items but rarely. As much as we love buying less, it is really important to update your wardrobe.

SOFT SHELL JACKET

Designed to connect the difference between typical coats, fleeces, and jackets, the softshell jackets are resilient and incredibly stylish. Famous brands like Berluti and Ermenegildo Zegna are promoting lightweight, airy jackets and trousers that are vague with soft fittings. It’s not highly fashionable as it sounds but if you pair it with a patch-pocketed informal blazer with a shirt, you can play the game easily.

RETRO STYLE

In the 1940s post-war America entered a period of prosperity and as with the wartime rationing of materials including fabric are lifted, the high style of Hollywood celebrities could be worn by the masses. Fashion, what would become today’s Retro Style, developed rapidly.

Gucci has long championed its own kind of lavish, dynamic, 1970s maximalism, while next season is inspired in part by the madcap stylings of Elton John back in his days – and a number of brands have opted for nostalgia at a time when the world is a scary place to be.

In this year 2018, 1950s fashion Elvis Presley’s Esque Hawaiian shirts dominated the catwalks of Louis Vuitton, while bowling shirts ruled the Prada catwalk, and 1980s, American Gigolo-style long blazers appeared at Dries Van Noten.

RICH PICKINGS

Leave the decoration to the women they said, they are the experts, they said. That has been the approved in the fashion industry until now. This season, the men are stepping up the game with discreetly lustrous details – Bottega Veneta proposes iridescent silks for men, while Dolce & Gabbana has added bullion and heavy motifs to sweaters and shoes as a masculine way to interpret embellishment.

SPORTS DIRECT

Bondi Beach surfers appeared on the catwalk of Louis Vuitton with beach vibe shirts topped off by cycling shorts. Hi-tech mountaineering outfit flooded the stage at Parisian house Lanvin cagoules dangling with toggles, cords, and zips. And ultra stretchable jogging trousers at Berluti pointed to a dynamic kind of guy. It may not be ideal for yomping up Snowdonia though.

FUNCTIONAL WEAR

Despite much of what’s in our wardrobe, from either sports, military or workwear, functional pieces were, for ages, mutually exclusive. Attempting to right the wrong, fashion designers and brands worked hard in recent seasons to construct clothes equally suited to the front line and the front row.
